Person Centred Experiential Therapy

As a person-centred experiential psychotherapist, I aim to give you the space to explore where you are and what you have experienced.

Central to successful therapy is the relationship between a counsellor and their client. I  am here to offer you an accepting relationship and to listen without judgement to whatever issues you wish to bring.

My role is to be a companion to help explore what is going on for you. I will not tell you what you should do, or how you should think or feel. Instead I hope to help you explore ways of making sense of your thoughts and feelings and together we will find answers to your difficulties.

Quote from Rumi, "Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field, I will meet you there.

You can use the time in each session as you wish and we will go at your time and your pace. The focus of sessions is empowering you in a process of self understanding, to help you reconnect with yourself and your sense of self worth and to support your ability to make choices and explore more effective ways of living.

Whilst my core training is person centred, I have completed training in other therapeutic approaches, so I am able to adapt my approach to meet your particular needs as an individual

Counselling Young People

Being a young person is complicated today and navigating the pressures of fitting in and achieving can be intense. The pressure from peers and social media, as well as family separation or blended families increase this complexity.

This can be further compounded for young people who are neurodivergent, who find the social rules that are are expected to follow frustrating and confusing.

I offer respectful and empathic listening and a non-judgemental attitude for them to explore their difficulties.

Neurodivergence

I have worked therapeutically with both young people and adults who are Neurodivergent, including Autistic clients. those with ADHD, OCD, Dyscalculia and Dyslexia.

On-line Therapy

Online Therapy has become much more common since the lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many people value the flexibility of seeing their therapist online:

  • It allows you to find the therapist best suited to you as you are no longer restricted by location

  • It allows you to receive counselling from the comfort of your own home which makes it more accessible:

  • You may need to continue to shield from COVID 19 as you are clinically vulnerable

  • You may have a disability or condition that means travelling to therapy would be difficult

  • You may have difficulties arranging childcare

For on-line therapy to be successful you need to have a confidential space where you will not be disturbed and where you feel safe and comfortable to talk
